Match report Liverpool 1-2 Wigan

Wigan picked up a suprising win to boost their survival hopes, also this result heats presure onto reds boss Kenny Dalglish.

The game started in a open fashion with both teams playing quite well however wigan where having much more of the ball and where growing into the game a noisy away following was cheering them on at anfield.

Then on the half hour mark Martin Skertal concedes a penalty when he denies Victor moses a clear goalscoring opportunity when he kicks moses in the head to see a penalty given whitch Shaun Maloney converts to give Wigan a much deserved lead at a sunny and quiet Anfield.

Liverpool started the second half brightly and the reds got their reward when Luis Suarez finished off a Steven Gerrard pass.

But the latics didnt give up Ben Watson was brought on in place of Jean Beausejour and that sparked something into latics and they took the lead as captin Gary Caldwell cooly finished to put wigan on course for a vital victory. the latics where bossing the match they where looking the most likely.

With ten minuets left liverpool brought on raheem sterling for his first apperance in a liverpool shirt but it wss wigans substitute Conor Sammon who came nearest to scoring his effort was blocked.

Five minuets where added on at the end but despite pilling on the pressure liverpool didnt find the net wigan held on for a huge victory in their season .

Monday Madness!

Buzz!
A Ryman Isthmian Football League Division One South match between Whyteleafe and Hythe Town had to be called off after the referee was stung by a bee in the 31st minute and collapsed. We've all heard about Muamba's incident and this is all just deja vu! Thankfully ref Ashley Slaughter is now recovering well after suffering an allergic reaction to the sting. But things looked rather more ominous during the game when the official collapsed after being pricked. After he failed to respond positively to treatment the game was called off with Hythe winning 1-0, which may have buzzed off a lot of their fans.

Messi is an amazing keeper!
Lionel Messi has already proved he is one of the greatest footballers that ever lived by entertaining every crowd going for the past few years, but now it seems the little Argentinian may also be a very good goalkeeper... yes, really.

"Boo hoo! I'm so tired!"
Manchester City fan John Millington, who featured in a viral video that appeared to show him crying, has denied blubbering like a baby when his team conceded a late goal to Swansea and says he was just 'very tired'.

Big match preview Wigan Athletic V West brom

The words 'must win game' have been used to describe this game from a wigan perspective but as for west brom they approch this game in a more confident style as they look to continue a great run of form, can they put the nail in the wigan coffin?

Wigan are about due a home victory there last home win was on the 28th august 2011 so a win is very much needed at home sooner rather than later

Where the game will be lost

As ive said wigan are looking at this as a must win game but most fans around the club belive that shaun maloney who impressed in last weeks 1-1 draw with norwich and key midfielder mohamed diame should start peter odemwinge will not face the latics die to injury that is a big blow for the baggies but if they want to win this game marc antoane fortune will be key also keith andrews in midfield

Prediction
I think wigan will win 2-1 because it means more to wigan this match because they are scrapping for survival however west brom are mid table with nothing really to play for

Monday Madness!

Torres wins chance to train with Drogba!
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres was at the end of a joke at Didier Drogba's Foundation charity ball when the winner of a training session with the Ivorian offered to donate it to the Spanish striker.

My foot hurts!
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson experienced a night of horrors on and off the pitch - his team were beaten 3-2 by Athletic Bilbao, and an electronic substitutions board fell on his leg.

My head hurts!
It's astonishing when any player scores five goals in one game - but Lionel Messi's record-breaking Champions League haul was made even more impressive after it emerged he was suffering from a headache beforehand.

Save the frogs!
Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung has been asked to put his weight behind a campaign to protect frogs in South Korea.

Footballer sues church as life with God costs him chance to be a Devil!
A former Portuguese Division Three player is suing the evangelical church which he claims cost him the chance to play for Manchester United. Arquimedes Nganga, 46, is seeking £10million damages from the Baptist Union as he claims that, had the church not turned him into a ‘fervent evangelist’ he would have been good enough to play for the Red Devils. The 46-year-old, who has accused the leaders of the Baptist Union of causing him ‘psychological harm’, said: ‘I could definitely have had a long career in the Premier League. ‘I see a lot of players today who I am not inferior to and perhaps better than. ‘Most midfielders are either defensive or attacking but I was both. I had something new.’ Manchester United have yet to comment.

Torres doesn't even want to score!
Goal-shy striker Fernando Torres gave the clearest indication yet that he's severely lacking in confidence after it emerged he turned down the chance to take a penalty in Chelsea's 2-0 FA Cup win over Birmingham. In our first ever Monday Madness we saw Bury's Schumacher and Coke arguing and fighting over a penalty. This was the total opposite.
